Auditions
Audition music has been provided for you on this website. Click on the appropriate instrument family listed in the sidebar (to the left) and download the audition packet for your instrument. Also, don't forget that you'll be expected to sight read in your audition.
Do I have to prepare ALL of the excerpts in my audition packet?
Yes! Each excerpt was selected to test a specific area of your musical ability. It is important that you prepare each and every excerpt with care.
What if I can't make it to my audition?
Auditions can be rescheduled in the event of an emergency only. Email

as soon as you know you won't be able to attend to audition and we will reschedule. If you can't make your audition because of a regular conflict with the Tuesday evening time, your audition will need to be cancelled.
Who can audition for the Lakeside Pride Symphony Orchestra?
Anybody! General Information
When and where does the Lakeside Pride Symphony Orchestra rehearse?
The LPSO will rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 at the People's Church of Chicago, Preston Bradley Center. 941 W Lawrence, Chicago, IL 60640.
Does it cost any money to play in the LPSO?
Lakeside Pride is a not-for-profit organization, and members are expected to pay a modest fee of $60 each season. Further information about membership dues are available on the members page and for scholarship information you can contact
